Police have recovered a large percentage of the goods that were stolen from the Red Cross Offices in Laamu atoll Gan, the Maldives Police Service has said. Rf 95,000 worth of goods were stolen from the office last Thursday.
According to a Police official the thieves had gained entry into the office by breaking open a window and had stolen four computer systems and a digital camera, among other things.
Police said that they had recovered the four computer systems during a special operation they had conducted to find the items.
“The computers were hidden inside the woods of the island,” a Police official said. “Other than being slightly wet due to rain the systems don’t seem to have been damaged too much.”
Police also said that they had arrested three suspects in the case but did not reveal their identities.
