Serengeti Safari - Experience a Soul-Stirring Feeling of Space

Have you ever thought of having a Serengeti safari? To begin with, safari is a word that is derived from the Swahili language of east Africa and it means travel. The word Serengeti also comes from the language of a community living in this area known as the Masaai. The correct pronunciation should be 'siringit' which means the place where the land runs forever. This refers to the flat grassy plains which make up about a third of the park of Serengeti. The park has the grasslands and savannahs that ensure it is always full of wild animals.

Having a Serengeti safari is very nice especially during the months of May and October. This is the time that the park is full of the animals like the wildebeests, impalas, warthogs and many others. There are also lions and cheetahs which are spotted in the park. This lions are at this time happy since it is when they are able to feed on the wildebeests and zebras. It is also during this period that you get to experience one of the seven natural wonders of the world, when the wildebeests migrate from the Mara to the Serengeti passing through the Mara River.

There are those that survive although others lose their lives at the hands of the predators in the form of crocodiles. This migration takes place for about 2-3 months. Viewing this wonder leaves one with a heady feeling since they can actually see it happen at very close range. There are also many lodges and hotels that can be found on the Serengeti. They are there to make sure that your Serengeti safari goes well without any problems. Your security is also guaranteed both in and out of the park, thus there is no need to worry. Enjoy yourself.
